How To Use Yard Care™ Soils

Instructions for using Mountain West's Yard Care™ Topsoil and Potting Soil.

Yard Care™ Topsoil

Topdressing and Patching Lawns:

Spread a thin layer of Yard Care™ All-Purpose Topsoil over lawn approximately 1/4" deep.  Work in gently with back of a rake.  A 1 cubic foot bag will cover 50-60 square feet.

Gardens:

Mix 1 to 3 inches of Yard Care™ All-Purpose Topsoil into the existing soil.  For best results, also add 1 to 2 inches of  Yard Care™ Compost & Manure Mix into the soil mixture.

Yard Care™ Potting Soil

Indoor/Container Planting:

Remove plant from old container.  Be careful not to disturb roots.  Add enough Yard Care™ All-Purpose Potting Soil to new container so the plant will rest slightly above the desired height.  Place plant in pot and carefully fill with Yard Care™ All-Purpose Potting Soil.

Outdoor Planting:

Prepare a hole that is twice as wide as the root ball and same depth as the root ball.  Place plant in hole.  Be careful not to disturb roots.  Add Yard Care™ All-Purpose Potting Soil, compacting as you go to prevent air pockets, until hole is 3/4 filled.  IMPORTANT.  Firm again at this time.  Fill hole with water and allow it to seep in.  Do not tamp down after wetting.  Add sufficient Yard Care™ All-Purpose Potting Soil to fill the remainder of the hole.
